Molds were made of several different rocks collected from the shores of Lake Michigan in Milwaukee. Clay is
pressed into the molds, then removed once in the basic rock shape. Excess clay is removed. The remaining clay is smoothed,
and a small hole is inserted for hanging.
Before the clay dries, each clay rock is imprinted with a child's name and dates of life. The rock form is then
fired to almost 2000 degrees.
The fired rocks are then stained using Mason Stains and coated wtih a clear acrylic spray to protect the finish.
